GO OUTSIDE #22: How to Celebrate Earth Month Worldwide
Plus a total eclipse ☀️ and new Celo marketplace 🌱
Have you been outside today?
Climate Report:
Happy Solar Eclipse day! Today, the moon will pass directly between the sun and the earth, and a 115-mile-wide stretch of the United States will plunge into sparkling twilight. Are you also skipping work to experience the “moment of totality” (around 4 minutes) and witness the indescribable beauty of the sun’s flames glowing from behind the moon? The next one won’t be until 2044!
Founders Intro:
Hi Stewards,
Happy Earth Month!
It may sometimes feel arbitrary to celebrate April as the month of climate action when so many people are on the frontlines of environmental stewardship every day… but for us, Earth Month is a welcome reminder that climate action is a community effort. As cherry blossoms bloom where we are in New York, we join Earth Month festivities while also acknowledging that around the world, millions of people are fighting this cause everyday.
“Earth Day, a day dedicated to enlisting all the citizens of a bountiful country in a common cause of saving life from the deadly byproducts of that bounty.”
First Earth Day CBS News Report with Walter Cronkite, 1970
You can participate in Earth Month from anywhere, check out what events are near you on this Earth Day map!
Also breaking news: STEWARD is proud to be featured as one of the inaugural creators on the new RaribleX Celosphere Marketplace!
Celosphere is a primary and secondary marketplace for Celo collections (like STEWARD) focused on art, community, and impact. It brings together diverse creators from Celo’s global ecosystem to empower a new, seamless age of digital ownership. Celo is also launching a Creators Fund to help artists and builders bring their mission-driven projects to Celosphere.
It has been incredible to partner with carbon-negative blockchain Celo throughout STEWARD’s entire journey, and we’re thrilled for this new chapter. Find our friends Plastiks, Ecosapiens, and Boys Club there too!
One love,
Steward Olivia
What’s going on in Climate 3.0?
MethaneSAT, an affiliate of the Environmental Defense Fund, has launched a satellite into space that will be able to detect methane emissions more precisely than ever before using advanced sensing technology and AI. The data will be available online for free, catalyzing a new era of transparency and accountability.
